AT THE WHITE HOUSE IN WASHINGTON AND IN CANADA.  HE HAS APPEARED ACROSS THE NATION FROM

LANGTRY, TEXAS, HOME OF JUDGE ROY BEAN, ON SOUTH TO THE COWBOY POETRY GATHERING AT PINCHER

CREEK, ALBERTA ON THE NORTH; AND FROM SAVANNAH, GEORGIA'S MUSEUM NEXT TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN

ON THE EAST;  TO THE QUEEN MARY ON THE PACIFIC OCEAN AT LONG CALIFORNIA ON THE WEST.  IN ADDITION

HE HAS TAKEN COWBOY CULTURE IN OTHER FORMS TO 11 OTHER STATES AND 12 OTHER NATIONS.  HE IS ALSO A

RECOGNIZED WESTERN ARTIST WHOSE SCULPTURES ARE IN THE COLLECTIONS OF PRESIDENTS, GOVERNORS,

MOVIE STARS AND OTHER DIGNITARIES IN 20 STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA AND SEVEN OTHER NATIONS.

 
     
 

HE HAS HEADED, AS CHAIRMAN, PRESIDENT OR ADMINISTRATOR, SOME 18 NATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS THAT DEAL

WITH COWBOY CULTURE.  THESE INCLUDE THE AMERICAN JUNIOR RODEO ASSOCIATION, NATIONAL WESTERN

ARTISTS ASSOCIATION, AMERICAN CHUCK WAGON ASSOCIATION, INTERNATONAL WESTERN MUSIC ASSOCIATION,

NATIONAL INTERCOLLEGIATE RODEO ASSOCIATION, AMERICAN COWBOY ASSOCIATION, WESTERN/ENGLISH

RETAILERS OF AMERICA AND NATIONAL COWBOY SYMPOSIUM AND CELEBRATION.  HE IS A MEMBER OF WESTERN

WRITERS OF AMERICA AND HAS WRITTEN FEATURE ARTICLES FOR VARIOUS WESTERN, RODEO AND LIVESTOCK

PUBLICATIONS.  HE HAS ALSO PUBLISHED CHILDRENS BOOKS, POETRY BOOKS AND A RODEO PERIODICAL.

 
     
 

HE  HAS RECEIVED DOZENS OF AWARDS AND ACCOLADES FROM LOCAL, STATE, REGIONAL, NATIONAL AND

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND HAS HELPED TO START MORE THAN 20 COWBOY CULTURE EVENTS ACROSS

THE NATION.  SOME OF HIS LATEST AWARDS INCLUDE "LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" OF THE AMERICAN

COWBOY CULTURE AWARDS; THE FIRST "PIONEER TUMBLEWEED AWARD" BY THE "COWBOYS, HEROES AND

FRIENDS" EVENT OF BRANSON, MISSOURI AND "THE ROUNDERS" AWARD BY THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO FOR HIS

LEADERSHIP IN COWBOY CULTURE.  IT WAS PRESENTED IN A CEREMONY BY GOVERNOR JOHNSON AT THE

MANSION IN SANTA FE.  HE WAS NAMED A DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS OF THE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE OF

TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY IN 2001.  HE WAS IN A MOVIE, "COWBOYS OF THE AMERICAS" THAT WAS PRODUCED A FEW

YEARS AGO BY KING MOTION PICTURES, LTD OF CANADA FOR THE DISNEY CHANNEL.

 
     
 

HE  WAS THE TOP 4-H BOY IN THE UNITED STATES IN 1948 AS THE NATIONAL 4-H LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNER;

THE "OUTSTANDING YOUNG MAN OF OF TERRY COUNTY AND IN THE TOP TEN IN TEXAS IN 1955; HE WAS LISTED IN

VOLUME ONE OF "WHO'S WHO IN TEXAS" IN 1955; HE WAS NAMED THE OUTSTANDING CITIZEN OF HIS COUNTY

IN 1980; HE IS CURRENTLY LISTED IN BOTH "WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA" AND "WHO'S WHO IN THE WORLD" BY

MARQUIS "WHO'S WHO" WHICH WAS STARTED IN 1899.  THE INTERNATIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL CENTRE OF CAMBRIDGE,

ENGLAND LISTED HIM IN ITS BOOK, "ONE THOUSAND GREAT AMERICANS", IN 2001.  HIS HOME TOWN MUSEUM AT

POST, TEXAS OPENED THE "ALVIN G. DAVIS" ROOM FILLED WITH HIS MEMORABILIA AND AWARDS

 TO HONOR HIM AS GARZA COUNTY'S FAVORITE SON IN 2001.

 
     
 

THIS IS PRETTY GOOD, I'D SAY, FOR A COUNTRY BOY FROM WEST TEXAS WHO WHEN ASKED ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCES

IN 78 YEARS SIMPLY SAYS, "HE'S BEEN TO A COUPLE OF GOAT ROPINGS AND A COUNTY FAIR OR TWO".  HE IS AND

HAS BEEN FOR YEARS, A CELEBRITY ENDORSEE FOR "WRANGLER" AS EVIDENCED BY THE SHIRT AND JEANS HE WEARS.
