LEATRICE JOY CABLE

INDIAHOMA - Funeral for Leatrice Joy Cable, 78, Indiahoma, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cache School New Auditorium with the Rev. Leonard Presley and the Rev. Gary Tahmahkera officiating.

Prayer service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Cable died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at her home.

Burial will be in Cache KCA Inter-Tribal Cemetery, Cache.

She was born May 10, 1930, in Lawton, to Benjamin and Virginia Poahway Tahmahkera. She attended and graduated from Indiahoma High School. She married Franklin James Cable Sr. in Henryetta, Texas. She was the great-granddaughter of Quanah Parker and Weckeah and the granddaughter of Tahmahkera and Werahre. She was a member of Post Oak Mennonite Brethren Church and the Comanche Nation. She was a marksman with a rifle and a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: Sammy Cable, of the home; and Benny and Leona Cable, Cache; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Nancy and Mark Bass, Lawton; Connie Amos, Indiahoma; and Virginia and Rex Wilson, Altus; 17 grandchildren: Frankie, Misty, Leanna, Brad, Mary, B.J., Christopher, Silicia, Jeremy, Timothy, Dana, Tonya, Lisa, Shane, Amber, Brittany and Jeffery; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; an aunt, Anna Tahmahkera, Cache; a special friend, CoCo, Indiahoma; two nieces: Delmona Bennally and Louise Jones, both of Fort Washakie; two nephews: Ben Tahmahkera and Butch Tahmahkera, both of Cache; and many family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons: Franklin James Cable Jr., and Charles Cable; a daughter, Lydia Burgess; and a great-grandson, Donavan Terry.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 1-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
