LAWTON CONSTITUTION - NOVEMBER 18, 2009 PEGGY JEAN PARKER WAHLEBERG Funeral for Peggy Jean Parker Wahlenberg, 74, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Church of the Nazarene, Cache, with the Rev. Nick Tahchaw-wickah officiating. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel. She died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at a Norman hospital. Burial will be in Cache KCA Intertribal Cemetery, Cache. She was born June 2, 1935, in Lawton, to Roy Parker Sr. and Alice Mowatt. She was a member of the Comanche Tribe, the Quanah Parker Descendents Society, Comanche War Dance Society, Comanche War Scouts, and Esa-Rosa. She attended Bible training school in New Mexico. She was a homemaker and worked as a telephone operator and a nurse. She was a beadworker. Survivors include six children: Richard Parker Sr., Oklahoma City; Mary Alice Wade, Jerry Parker, Orlando Wahlenberg and Raquel Wahlenberg, all of Lawton; and Gustavo Wahlenberg, LaPorte, Texas; sisters: Marlene Miyao, Linda Parker-Estes and Susan J. Parker, all of Lawton; an aunt, Joan Sands, Cache; an uncle, Baldwin Parker Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Parker Sr. and Alice Mowatt; sons: Anthony Parker and Mike Parker; sisters: Janette, Rosalie, Patricia and Cynthia Ann Parker Baquera; a brother, Roy Parker Jr.; grandchildren: Stephanie Ann Parker, Samantha Ariel Parker and Jimmy Mack Braziell; grandparents: Baldwin Parker Sr. and Nora Parker, Sam No-hand Mowatt and Chock-suh WhiteWolf. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. |
